1. Who we are
This website is operated by SuperCounsel, PLLC ("SuperCounsel," "we," "us"), a Utah professional limited liability company operating as a fractional in-house legal services provider for small businesses and startups.
2. Information we collect
We collect a deliberately small amount of information through this website:
- Information you provide. If you subscribe to the SuperCounsel Legal Brief or other updates, we collect your email address. If you schedule a consultation through our scheduling provider, we collect the name, email, company, and any other details you choose to provide in that flow.
- Information collected automatically. Like nearly all websites, our hosting infrastructure logs standard technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and timestamps. If we use website analytics, those services collect similar usage data to help us understand how the site is used.
We do not collect sensitive personal information through this website, we do not run advertising on this website, and we do not sell personal information.
3. How we use information
- to operate, secure, and improve the website;
- to send you the updates you subscribed to (you can unsubscribe at any time);
- to respond when you contact us or schedule a consultation;
- to run a conflicts check before any prospective engagement; and
- to comply with legal obligations.
We do not use information collected through this website for advertising, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
4. How we share information
We share information only with:
- service providers that help us operate the website and our communications (such as hosting, email delivery, and scheduling providers), bound to use it only on our behalf;
- professional advisors, and authorities where required by law or to protect rights and safety; and
- a successor entity in the event of a reorganization of our practice, consistent with applicable rules of professional conduct.
5. Prospective and current clients
Information you share with us in connection with an actual or prospective engagement is governed by the rules of professional conduct, including duties of confidentiality that are substantially more protective than this policy. Where this policy and those duties differ, the professional duties control. Please remember that using this website does not create an attorney-client relationship; see our Terms of Use.
6. Cookies
This website uses only the cookies and similar technologies described in our Cookie Policy (essential cookies needed for the site to function, and, if enabled, basic analytics). You can control cookies through your browser settings.
7. Data retention
We keep subscription information until you unsubscribe, scheduling and inquiry information for as long as needed to evaluate and document the inquiry (including conflicts records we are professionally required to maintain), and technical logs for the short periods our infrastructure providers retain them.
8. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under state privacy laws, including the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to request a copy, to correct it, or to request deletion. We honor these requests for everyone, regardless of state, except where professional or legal obligations require us to retain a record (for example, conflicts records).
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@supercounsel.com. We will verify your request using the email address associated with the information and respond within the time required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the limited information this website handles. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please use good judgment about what you send through any website.
10. Children
This website is intended for business audiences and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Effective date" above reflects the most recent revision, and material changes will be reflected on this page.
